Fred Prescott is
widely acknowledged to be one of the most important kinetic
sculpture artists of our time. Kinetic meaning “of or pertaining
to motion”. Movement and surprise are key elements of his metal
sculptures. Welded spatial planes of weighty and massive materials
are constructed to create fluid and lilting movements that
delight. His technical skill and whimsical applications leave the

Prescott’s kinetic
sculptures are found in the permanent collections of museums
across the country. Special and group exhibitions include the
Museum of Modern Art in New York, Radisson Gallery in Minneapolis,
and Maclaren Markowitz Gallery in Boulder, Colorado. Warner
Brothers Inc., Walt Disney Company, and MCA/Universal Studios have
commissioned works for their whimsical nature and welding mastery.
