Patricia Naylor was a
painter who became interested in clay and primitive firing
techniques. Upon coming to the Southwest, Patricia was introduced
to the cliff dwellings and the ancient ones for whom everyday life
connected them to spirit, and she could not help being touched by
the timeless beauty, wisdom and power of the earth.
Patricia’s art
incorporates landscape and imaginary cultural elements from
different times and places that evoke feelings of temples,
shrines, tombs and rituals. It introduces a place of “familiar
mystery,” and we are invited to find ourselves in a different
context. Patricia enjoys bringing together East and West, old and
new, natural and man made. As Patricia explains, “I am searching
for a new language. I know I’m looking for a place of
understanding and peace.” |
