"Three Ponies"
Horses and Ponies
Fused Glass Art

|
Over twenty years ago Fagan began
her series of signed and numbered horses which has been a
favorite with collectors since. Each kiln-formed glass horse
requires fusing at temperatures exceeding 1450 degrees. At a
full fuse, the different layers of compatible glass which
form the unique design melt into one thickness. While
wearing heavy latex gloves, Fagan must remove the heated
shelf containing the flat horse and, in less than thirty
seconds, lift out two legs with a spatula. The horse is then
quickly shaped, set upright and transferred into a second
kiln for annealing – a controlled cooling of the glass to
relieve stress. |

| Fagan's singular glass works
have been exhibited from Vermont to Florida and Texas to New
York. Awards and honors have been a constant in Fagan's
career, from 1st Place in the Glass Craft Expo in Las Vegas,
NV in 1996 to "Best in Show" at the International Glass
Craft Expo in Arlington, TX in 1991 to honors at the 10th
Annual Associates Exhibition in Corning, NY of the Stained
Glass Association of America (SGAA). Fagan's remarkable
talents, vision and skills have always stood out. |
